The dosage nozzle is the metering orifice at the end of a PulsFOG solution line, screwed into its holder on the fogging tube. Tank pressure pushes solution through it into the exhaust stream, so its bore is what actually sets the output rate and, with it, the droplet spectrum: a bigger bore passes more liquid per minute and makes a coarser, wetter fog, a smaller bore passes less and makes a drier, finer one. Dramm carries the dosage nozzle under one item number rather than one number per bore, so the size is stated at the time of order. It is a wear and blockage part, and a plugged or eroded orifice shows up as a thin fog, an uneven output, or solution that will not come through at all.
There is nothing to pick from a menu on this page, but there is a size to state when you order, and that size is the whole decision. PulsFOG dosage nozzles are identified by a number and the number tracks the bore, so a higher number passes more. Dramm quotes the hand carried K-22 on a pair of No. 10 nozzles, and its instructions allow the step up to a pair of No. 11 for mobile work once a VK-II or NutriFOG carrier is in the mix; the larger cart mounted machines run bigger bores again, into the No. 15, No. 20 and No. 25 range for disinfectants and oil carried formulations and as far as No. 30 on the biggest. Going larger raises output and coarsens the droplet, which is what an oil carried formulation wants and what a water based pesticide does not: Dramm warns that too much flow with a water based product leaves stains and overdoses the ground close to the machine, and for stationary fogging the guidance is to stay at No. 10. Count how many the machine takes as well as what size, because the standard and oil portables carry two, a BIO machine adds a second pair for the water line, and the water side always takes the smaller bore of the two so the water tank never empties first.
