Dramm - Threaded Pipe Cap with Washer
Brand: Dramm
Threaded Pipe Cap with Washer
A threaded cap closes off a threaded outlet that is not in use so the rest of the system can be pressurised. Dramm lists it among the common components of a PolyRail and JetRain installation, where it caps a line end or an unused port. The cap is female threaded and ribbed on the outside for hand tightening, and it is supplied with the flat washer that forms the seal. Order it by the thread it screws onto, not by the size of the tubing behind that thread.
One choice on this page: Size, which is the pipe thread the cap has to seat on. 1/2 in, 3/4 in and 1 in cover the threaded fittings Dramm uses across its valve stations, manifolds, risers and line end fittings, so read the thread on the outlet you are capping and order to match. The cap is female, so it goes over a male thread. Keep the washer with the cap and make sure it is seated before you tighten, because the washer is the sealing face, not the thread. If the thing you are closing is the open end of a polyethylene lateral rather than a threaded port, that is a different job and Dramm closes it with a figure 8 clamp or an end fitting instead.

Key Features
- Closes an unused threaded outlet so the line can be pressurised and tested.
- Supplied with its flat sealing washer, so nothing else has to be ordered to make the joint.
- Female thread in 1/2 in, 3/4 in and 1 in to match the threaded fittings across Dramm valve stations and manifolds.
- Ribbed body tightens by hand, so no wrench is needed on a plastic thread.
- Listed by Dramm as a standard PolyRail and JetRain component.
- Comes off again, so a capped port can be brought back into service without cutting plumbing.
Ideal Applications
- Capping the threaded end of a PolyRail or JetRain supply line.
- Blanking an unused outlet on a valve station or multi-outlet manifold.
- Closing a riser during commissioning or pressure testing.
- Taking a bench out of production without replumbing the header.
- Closing a drained threaded outlet ahead of winter.
Use these with Dramm valve stations and multi-outlet manifolds, the thread adaptors that step a threaded outlet onto poly lateral line, and the figure 8 clamp that closes a 16mm PE line end.
