Brass Eyelets and Handpick Insertion Tool

This is the take-off half of a Dramm dribble tube system: the brass eyelet that goes through the wall of the black poly lateral, and the tool that puts it there. Every drop needs one eyelet, and eyelet choice follows the bore of the leader tube, one for 0.060 in and 0.045 in ID tube and one for 0.075 in ID tube. The Universal Handpick insertion tool holds an eyelet on its tip, pierces the poly tubing and seats the eyelet in one leak-free motion, which is what makes several thousand drops per house practical to assemble. When you fit the dribble tube, push it past the compression end of the eyelet or the joint will pull out.

Match the eyelet to the leader tube bore, not to the pot. The 0.045 in green and 0.060 in brown tubes both run in the smaller eyelet and the 0.075 in blue tube runs in the larger one, because the two smaller bores share a 0.100 in outside diameter while the 0.075 in tube is 0.125 in outside; that outside diameter, not the bore, is what the eyelet actually grips. Get it wrong in either direction and the joint either leaks or will not go together. The eyelet doubles as an adapter on a bench you are converting, since Dramm leader tube is smaller in outside diameter than most uncompensated drip tubing and an eyelet will bring an already punched hole down to the Dramm size.
