MD-9 Adjustable Stainless Steel Spray Gun

The MD-9 is a stainless steel spray gun for the Dramm Hydra sprayer line that adjusts output at the gun rather than back at the machine. The nozzle rotates to move the output from a fine mist through to a long, concentrated stream, so an operator changes coverage in the row instead of walking back to the cart. It takes interchangeable orifice tips, which set the flow band the gun works in, and Dramm rates it to a maximum gun pressure of 800 psi. It is a heavier, longer reaching alternative to the trigger gun that ships with a Hydra.

There is one configuration here: the quick connect version with the No. 4 tip, a 1.5 mm orifice, already fitted. That tip puts the gun in a 0.5 to 2.0 gpm band with a reach of about 6 m, which is the general purpose setting for greenhouse and nursery work off a Hydra. The tip is what you change when the job changes, and Dramm stocks 0.8 mm (No. 2), 1.5 mm (No. 4), 2.0 mm (No. 5), 2.5 mm (No. 6) and 3.0 mm (No. 8) orifices; flow and throw both climb with orifice size, from 0.3 to 0.5 gpm at 0.8 mm up to 3.0 to 7.0 gpm at 3.0 mm. Because it is the quick connect version it comes off the Hydra hose without tools, the same way the Drench Adaptor and Extension Lance do, so one hose can carry three different tools through a shift.
