Validate Plant Growth Regulator
Validate is a liquid plant growth regulator containing 0.5% cytokinin (as kinetin), a plant growth hormone that can occur naturally. Kinetin has been shown to increase cell division, cell differentiation and cell growth, and Validate can enhance plant growth and development when applied as directed. Under certain circumstances it may also delay senescence of the leaves on some crops. Validate is not a fertilizer, so use it alongside a sound fertility program.
For greenhouse and nursery grown ornamentals, dilute 1.3 fl oz in 10 gallons of water (1:1000), or 3/4 tsp per gallon for smaller batches, and spray foliage for thorough coverage. Bedding plants are treated at the 3 to 5 leaf stage and again 10 to 14 days before sale, established flowering plants 21 to 30 days after transplanting and again at flowering, foliage plants at the start of the season and 2 to 3 more times through the year, and woody ornamentals as new growth begins and every 30 days as needed. For crops, the general rate is 13 fl oz per 100 gallons of water; keep the final tank mix below pH 7.0, do not tank mix with alkaline products, and reapply if rain washes the leaves within 2 hours.
