Talstar P Professional Insecticide

Talstar P Professional is a water-based insecticide containing 7.9% bifenthrin (2/3 lb active ingredient per gallon), an IRAC Group 3A pyrethroid. It controls a wide spectrum of insects and mites on ornamentals, including aphids, mealybugs, mites, scale crawlers, thrips, whiteflies, fungus gnat adults, leafhoppers, caterpillars and weevils. Envu notes the formulation is non-irritating, contains no odorous or plant-damaging solvents and leaves no unsightly residues.

The label has a Greenhouses and Interiorscapes section for trees, shrubs, foliage plants, non-bearing fruit and nut trees and flowers in greenhouses and in interiorscapes such as hotels, shopping malls and office buildings, plus directions for outdoor plantscapes, lawns and in and around structures. Most ornamental pests are controlled at 0.125 to 0.5 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft (5.4 to 21.7 fl oz per 100 gallons) as a full-coverage foliar spray, with up to 1 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft allowed when maximum residual is needed; test sensitive cultivars on a few plants first. The label states do not apply in plant nurseries, do not apply through any irrigation system and do not apply by air.
