Tenax - Hortonova Trellis - HTN LM 94" W 5.9"x6.7"
Brand: Tenax
HORTONOVA LM is the polypropylene trellis mesh that replaced iron trellises, metal mesh and perishable bamboo in climbing vegetable production. One lightweight roll goes up in a fraction of the time a rigid structure takes, and it does the same job for less labor.
Tenax manufactures it through a dual stretching and extrusion process, which is what gives a mesh this light its strength. In laboratory aging equivalent to two seasons of Mediterranean sun, the transverse threads still held 85% of their original tensile strength.
Why Growers Use Trellis Net
- More light on the crop - training plants up an open mesh exposes more leaf area and drives photosynthesis
- Better air movement through the canopy, which lowers disease pressure and cuts the chemical program that follows it
- Cleaner fruit - vegetables hang free rather than resting on soil
- Lower labor cost - no tying individual plants to stakes, and no dismantling a rigid structure at season end
Crops
Peas, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, zucchini and climbing pumpkins.
Installation
Hang the net vertically from a support wire stretched between posts set 10 to 15 feet apart, and secure with staples, U-staples or PVC stretch ties. Plants climb the mesh on their own as they grow.
