Penex

Penex is a soil conditioner designed to aid water penetration into soil, reduce water runoff, and increase soil flocculation. It increases water penetration by breaking up soil particles that have become locked together through compaction or poor soil structure. By unlocking these particles it reduces runoff, increases aeration, allows root systems to move down the soil profile, and allows salt to wash out.

The general recommended rate is 16 fl oz per acre; for heavy soils two applications of 16 fl oz per acre each are recommended. Mix with enough water to cover the entire acre and apply to the soil, or apply through irrigation. Incorporation is not necessary. Golf courses and athletic fields use 2 to 3 oz per 1,000 sq ft. Preferred timing is fall after harvest or early spring before planting.

Penex carries no OMRI, CDFA, or WSDA organic input listing. The manufacturer flyer carries the restriction that it is not valid in Oregon, which scopes the marketing claims on that flyer rather than the product registration. Confirm Oregon status directly before selling into that state.

Penex is a soil conditioner and wetting agent. It is not a pesticide and no pest control claims are made for it. Fertilizing materials must be registered in most states before they may be distributed there.
