Fosphite

Fosphite is a systemic phosphite fungicide, EPA registered under number 68573-2 and approved by EPA as a Reduced Risk Pesticide. It controls Phytophthora, Pythium, and downy mildew on food crops, ornamentals, and bedding plants, Phytophthora in conifers, and Pythium in turf. It is a FRAC Group 33 fungicide with two modes of action: direct fungicidal activity and induced plant defense response.

Fosphite may be applied by foliar spray, soil drench, soil incorporation, bare root dip, and aerial application. It has a 4-hour restricted-entry interval and a 0-day pre-harvest interval, so it may be applied up to the day of harvest. A representative rate is 1 to 3 quarts in a minimum of 100 gallons of water per acre by ground, or a minimum of 10 gallons per acre by air. Do not apply at less than 3-day intervals.

Fosphite is a fungicide registered with the US Environmental Protection Agency, EPA Reg. No. 68573-2. Pesticides must also be registered in each state before they may be sold or used there, and product registration in a state does not mean every labeled use is permitted there.

The EPA-accepted label dated 19 July 2024 carries state-specific use restrictions. A number of crop and pest uses are marked not registered for use in California, and a number are marked not for use in New York. Seed treatment application is not for use in California. Confirm state registration and permitted uses for your location and crop before ordering.
