Stainless Steel Quick Connect - 3000 psi
The matched pair of stainless steel water stop couplers that let an operator change the tool on the end of a Dramm spray hose without shutting the machine down or draining the line. They are rated to 3,000 psi and the water stop is what keeps a disconnect from dripping chemical on the crop. Bought by anyone running a Hydra, MSO, MS-Gas or CS-5AGS who wants to move between a spray gun, an L-5 lance and a drench adaptor during a round.
The option is gender, and gender decides where the half lives. Dramm fits the male half to the tool: its MS40-DA Drench Adaptor is supplied with a male stainless quick connect already on it, and Dramm states outright that a male stainless steel quick connect is required to run an L-5E extension lance on a Hydra. That makes the female the hose-side half. A shop that wants to swap tools therefore buys one female for the hose end and one male for each tool it wants to hang on that hose. Both halves are stainless and both carry the same 3,000 psi rating, which sits far above the 500 to 800 psi the tools they serve actually run at, so the rating is margin and durability rather than a working figure.
