Dramm - PolyRail Aluminum Extrusion 12 ft Section
Brand: Dramm
PolyRail Aluminum Extrusion 12 ft Section
Dramm's patented PolyRail is an aluminum U-channel extrusion that polyethylene tubing presses into and snaps home, holding the line rigid so it cannot sag between hangers or twist out of aim. Dramm: 'PolyRail keeps nozzles straight and even, ensuring the best coverage for your irrigation system. Installs easily without glue.' It carries no water itself - it is a support for the tubing and for the nozzles punched into it. Sold by the 12 ft section in a 16mm channel and a 25mm channel.
The choice is the tubing the channel is extruded to hold, 16mm or 25mm. Both are 12 ft sections, so this is not a length decision. Dramm describes the 25mm rail as being for higher flow and more support, and it is the one Dramm says can be used to hang baskets when supported at 4 to 6 ft intervals; Dramm gives 25mm as 3/4 in nominal diameter. Order the rail to match the PE tubing you are running, and match the rail-guided punch to it as well, since those are made 16mm and 25mm too.
Specifications
| Section length | 12 ft on both sizes |
| Channel size | 16mm or 25mm, matching the PE tubing it sleeves |
| 25mm nominal size | Dramm gives 25mm as 3/4 in nominal diameter |
| Profile | 3-position U-rail; Dramm publishes upright, drop inversion and horizontal positions for the 16mm rail |
| Material | Lightweight aluminum; Dramm cites corrosion resistance and a cooler water temperature |
| Hanger spacing | One hanger every 12 ft, or roughly 10 to 12 ft apart, on irrigation runs; 4 to 6 ft intervals where the 25mm rail is used to hang baskets |
| Installation | Tubing presses in from one end and snaps into place, with no glue; let tubing warm up first if it has been stored outdoors. With 25mm tubing, keep the printing on the tube between the two points of the C to stop it twisting |

Key Features
- Holds a lateral straight so every nozzle keeps its aim down the length of the bay
- Tubing presses in and snaps home - Dramm: 'Installs easily without glue'
- Aluminum, corrosion resistant, and Dramm notes it holds a cooler water temperature
- The 25mm rail is rated by Dramm to carry hanging baskets when supported every 4 to 6 ft
- Rail-guided punches centre the 3mm nozzle hole in the tubing
- Dramm's patented system, used on greenhouse, livestock barn and commercial building lines
Ideal Applications
- Overhead and propagation mist lines that must stay straight so every nozzle aims alike
- Inverted nozzle runs below hanging baskets
- Bench-top and rolling-bench irrigation on riser posts
- Hanging baskets off the 25mm rail, supported at 4 to 6 ft intervals
- Livestock barn and commercial building cooling lines
PolyRail is the mechanical support; the fittings that terminate and branch the tubing it carries are EasyLoc in 16mm and PolyLoc in 16mm and 25mm, and PipeLoc is an unrelated Dramm line for large PVC pipe.
