MistTime Temperature Probe
A MistTime misting controller runs on time out of the box; the temperature probe is what lets it run on temperature. With a probe on the sensor input, a valve can be set to hold off until the air passes a set point and then tighten its cycle as the temperature keeps climbing, so the same output behaves as a propagation mist controller in the morning and a cooling controller in the afternoon. The two probes here are not interchangeable: resistance is matched to the controller generation, and the wrong one reads false or trips a sensor fault alarm. Check which MistTime is on the wall before ordering.
Order by controller, not by price, because both probes carry the same price and only one will read correctly on your unit. MT10-TP is the 100 to 3000 ohm probe for the MistTime 10, the current ten-output controller. MTRC-TP is the 1000 ohm probe for the earlier MistTime 02 and MistTime 08 controllers. The MistTime 10 has a single temperature input, so one probe serves every valve on the controller no matter how many are wired; site it out in the crop canopy in the zone you want the temperature logic to follow, not at the panel, and run it back on shielded cable with the shield landed on the controller ground and the run kept away from the valve wiring.
Specifications
| Probe resistance | 1000 ohm (MTRC-TP) or 100 to 3000 ohm (MT10-TP) |
| Controller | MistTime 02 and MistTime 08 (MTRC-TP) or MistTime 10 (MT10-TP) |
| Interchangeable | No; the two resistances are not cross-compatible between controller generations |
| Function | Optional temperature input; starts a mist cycle above a set point and shortens the cycle as temperature rises |
| Temperature inputs on the controller | One, shared by all valves |
| Wiring | Shielded cable, 0.8 sq mm minimum, shield landed on the controller ground |
| Calibration | None; the sensor is not user-calibratable |

| MistTime 02 and 08 - 1000 ohm | MTRC-TP |
Key Features
- Gives a MistTime temperature control on top of the time-based cycling it does as standard
- Starts a valve once the air passes a set point, then shortens the cycle time as temperature climbs through the proportional band
- One input serves the whole controller while each valve stays independently set to time, temperature, or time and temperature
- MT10-TP is the 100 to 3000 ohm probe for the MistTime 10
- MTRC-TP is the 1000 ohm probe for the earlier MistTime 02 and MistTime 08
- The controller raises a sensor fault alarm if the probe or its wiring fails, so a dead sensor does not silently stop the mist
- Nothing to calibrate and nothing to set on the probe itself
Ideal Applications
- Propagation mist that has to speed up on bright, hot afternoons and back off overnight
- Evaporative cooling zones started by air temperature rather than by the clock
- Mixed houses where some valves run on time and others follow temperature from the same controller
- Replacing a probe damaged by carts, hose or a chemical application
- Adding temperature capability to a MistTime that was commissioned as a time-only controller
The probe plugs into the Dramm MistTime misting controller, MT-10, driving Dramm solenoid valves on JetFog nozzles or overhead mist lines.
