Dramm - MD-9 Spray Gun Nozzle
Brand: Dramm
MD-9 Spray Gun Nozzle
Replacement orifice tips for the MD-9, the adjustable stainless steel spray gun Dramm offers with its Hydra sprayer line. The tip is what sets how much solution the gun puts out, how far it throws and how fine the droplets are, so changing it is how one gun covers several jobs.
Match the tip to what the machine can actually deliver first, then to the work. The numbering maps to orifices exactly: No. 2 is 0.8 mm, No. 4 is 1.5 mm, No. 5 is 2.0 mm, No. 6 is 2.5 mm and No. 8 is 3.0 mm, with No. 6 marked as the factory standard and the other four as options. That standard is not arbitrary - Dramm's Hydra puts out 4 gpm, about 15 L/min, which lands inside the 2.5 mm band, while the 3.0 mm tip asks the sprayer for 30 to 60 L/min and will starve on a Hydra. Within what your pump supports, going smaller buys finer work and less run-off but costs reach: the 0.8 mm throws 4 m against 9 m for the 3.0 mm. All five occupy the same position in the gun, so any of them fits any MD-9 and tips can be changed as the job changes. There is no 1.2 mm tip in this range - the numbering steps straight from No. 2 at 0.8 mm to No. 4 at 1.5 mm - and although Dramm's chart carries 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 mm rows, no MD-9 tip exists behind them.

Key Features
- A full engineering chart per tip - volume, reach and the sprayer output each size demands - not just an orifice size
- 2.5 mm is the factory tip and matches a Hydra's 4 gpm output; the 3.0 mm would want 30 to 60 L/min
- Going smaller buys finer droplets and less run-off but costs reach, 4 m against 9 m across the range
- All five share the same 800 psi maximum gun pressure
- All five drop into the same position in the gun, so a tip change takes minutes
- OEM nozzles
Ideal Applications
- Insecticide, fungicide, sanitizer and growth regulator application from a Hydra sprayer
- Close-in fine work with the 0.8 mm and 1.5 mm tips
- Long throw and tall targets with the 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm tips
- Matching gun output to a smaller pump or a smaller engine
- Restoring an MD-9 gun that has lost or worn its tip
Fits the MD-9 gun on Dramm's Hydra sprayer line and mounts through the male stainless steel quick connect; Dramm's MS40-TG Turbo gun is a different gun with its own tips and no published cross-reference to these.
