JetRain Hanging Nozzle Assembly

A pre-made hanging drop: a barbed JetRain complete nozzle - cone plus the 15-50 psi Clean Out Check Valve - already fitted to a length of PE leader tube. The barb goes into an overhead lateral and the nozzle hangs below it. Dramm's Hanging Nozzle System works this way so the nozzle hangs plumb under its own weight, which keeps the pattern from being distorted by a nozzle sitting at an angle, and so that neither the nozzle nor the lateral above it drips on the crop between cycles.

Two choices. Drop length is the leader tube: 36 inch, 48 inch or 60 inch. Dramm's guidance for its Hanging Nozzle System is to choose a length that puts the nozzle below the hanging baskets, or at least 3 ft above the crop when watering benches or ground beds, and to space the assemblies about 3 ft apart along the lateral. Nozzle color is the flow rate, measured by Dramm at 40 psi: White 0.48 gpm (1.8 L/min) and Blue 0.48 gpm (1.8 L/min) for propagation mist, Red 0.79 gpm (3.0 L/min) for mist and irrigation, Yellow 1.37 gpm (5.2 L/min) for heavier irrigation. Dramm's chart also gives a working window for how far a nozzle should sit above the crop when it is inverted, and the two choices interact there: 24 to 96 inches for White and Blue, 24 to 120 inches for Red, but 60 to 120 inches for Yellow. That Yellow minimum is the one that catches people, since a short drop over a tall crop puts the nozzle under its own range. Yellow is offered on the 36 inch and 48 inch drops only.
