EasyLoc 16mm In-Line Isolation Valve
A lever-handled shut-off that goes straight into a 16mm polyethylene lateral, so one bench, bay or zone can be isolated while the rest of the house keeps running. Dramm describes it as shutting off the PE line, inserted as needed, on a barb and compression nut joint that needs no additional clamp. The outlet is a 16mm EasyLoc barb on every option, so the only thing you are choosing is what the inlet has to connect to upstream. EasyLoc is built in 16mm only; a 25mm line takes the PolyLoc in-line ball valve instead.
Pick by the upstream connection. 16mm PE x 16mm PE is a barb at both ends, for cutting a shut-off into an existing lateral part way along its length or for putting a valve between two rolls. 1/2 in MPT x 16mm PE and 3/4 in MPT x 16mm PE swap the inlet barb for a male pipe thread, so the valve screws straight into a PVC header, a valve station or any threaded outlet and starts the lateral with its own shut-off; Dramm's own wording for the threaded build is Connect PVC to PE, and the only difference between the two is which thread size the header presents. No. 400 Barb x 16mm PE is the grommet take-off build: instead of a thread the inlet is a No. 400 barbed spigot, which seats in the Dramm No. 400 top hat grommet, part ITG400TH, dropped into a 14mm or 9/16 in hole drilled in the supply pipe. Use that one when you would rather drill and grommet the main than thread or tap it, and order the grommet with it because the valve does not include one. The 16mm EasyLoc outlet is identical on all four, so nothing about the lateral side of the job changes with the choice.
