Dramm - EasyLoc 16mm Coupling and Thread Adaptor
Brand: Dramm
EasyLoc 16mm Coupling and Thread Adaptor
The straight-through EasyLoc parts for 16mm polyethylene lateral: a plain coupling, two male pipe thread adaptors and a female hose thread swivel adaptor. Every option carries a 16mm EasyLoc barb on the tubing side with the compression nut that Dramm says needs no additional clamp, so only the far end differs. The threaded options are how a PE lateral or manifold gets onto a PVC header, a valve station or a hose. EasyLoc is made in 16mm only, so there is no 25mm equivalent in this family.
The tubing end is the same on all four, so the decision is entirely about the other end. 16mm PE x 16mm PE is barb to barb, for joining two rolls or splicing a damaged length out of a run. 1/2 in MPT x 16mm PE and 3/4 in MPT x 16mm PE put a male pipe thread on the far end, in 1/2 in or 3/4 in, which screws into a PVC header, a valve or a valve station; Dramm's description of these is Connect PVC to PE, and the two differ only in the thread size the supply presents, so match whatever is already there rather than adapting. 3/4 in FHT Swivel x 16mm PE puts a female hose thread swivel on the far end instead, for starting a run at a hose bib or finishing it at a hose-threaded filter, and the swivel means the fitting can be tightened without twisting the tubing behind it. If you also want a shut-off at that point, the EasyLoc in-line isolation valve is the same joint with a valve built into it.
Specifications
| Tubing end | 16mm EasyLoc barb on all four options |
| Far end | A second 16mm EasyLoc barb, a 1/2 in male pipe thread, a 3/4 in male pipe thread, or a 3/4 in female hose thread swivel, according to the option |
| Joint | Barb plus compression nut; in Dramm's words, needs no additional clamp |
| Direction of flow | Straight through on every option; none of these fittings branches or shuts off |
| Tubing | Dramm 16mm PE lateral tubing; Dramm supplies its PE tubing in 16mm and 25mm |
| Family scope | EasyLoc is made in 16mm only, so every option here is a 16mm lateral fitting |

Key Features
- Joins or repairs a 16mm run without a clamp, on Dramm's own barb and compression nut joint
- Two male pipe thread sizes, so the fitting matches the header rather than needing a thread adaptor
- The female hose thread swivel tightens without winding up the tubing behind it
- Same 16mm barb across the whole EasyLoc range, so couplings, elbows, tees and valves share one tubing joint
- Dramm lists EasyLoc fittings among the standard parts of the PolyRail system
Ideal Applications
- Joining two rolls of 16mm PE to extend a lateral or manifold
- Splicing a damaged section out of a 16mm run
- Connecting a PVC header, valve or valve station to a PE lateral
- Attaching a hose or a hose-threaded filter to the end of a lateral
- Terminating a PolyRail run at a supply point
The EasyLoc 16mm tee, elbow and in-line isolation valve share this same barb and nut joint, PolyLoc is Dramm's separate compression fitting family for 16mm and 25mm PE, and PolyRail is the aluminum extrusion the same 16mm tubing sleeves into.
