Dramm - Dribble Tube Leader Poly Tubing Roll
Brand: Dramm
Dribble Tube Leader Poly Tubing Roll
Bulk poly leader tubing in the three colour-coded bores Dramm uses for its Dribble Tubes. This is not a compensated system: as Dramm puts it, unlike the PCAS system the flow rate for the Dribble Tubes is controlled by the diameter and length of the tube. That makes bore a flow decision, and the colour code is how the bore is recognised on a bench years later.
Choose the bore for the flow you want at the tube length you are cutting - a smaller bore delivers less through the same length, so a bench of small pots on short runs and a bench of large pots on long runs will want different tubing. Green is the 0.045 in ID small leader, brown is the 0.060 in ID medium, and blue is the 0.075 in ID large, matching the colours on Dramm's finished DTS, DTM and DTL dribble tubes. The outside diameter matters too, because it picks the brass eyelet: the 0.045 and 0.060 bores are both 0.100 in OD and take the DTMS-E eyelet, while the 0.075 bore is 0.125 in OD and takes the DTL-E. If you are converting from another uncompensated system, the eyelet also adapts a previously punched larger hole down to this tubing.
Specifications
| Bore by option | 0.045 in ID (green, small leader); 0.060 in ID (brown, medium); 0.075 in ID (blue, large) |
| Outside diameter by option | 0.100 in on the 0.045 and 0.060 bores; 0.125 in on the 0.075 bore |
| Flow control | Set by bore and cut length - there is no compensating element |
| Brass eyelet by option | DTMS-E for the 0.045 and 0.060 bores; DTL-E for the 0.075 bore |
| Colour code | Matches Dramm's finished dribble tubes - green small, brown medium, blue large |
| Installation | The HPT hand pick tool punches the hole and sets the eyelet in one motion |
Configurations
| Tubing Size | Part number |
|---|---|
| 0.075 in ID x 0.125 in OD - Blue - Large Leader | .075-2200 |
| 0.045 in ID x 0.100 in OD - Green - Small Leader | .045-4000 |
| 0.060 in ID x 0.100 in OD - Brown - Medium Leader | .060-4000 |
Key Features
- Three bores so flow can be matched to pot size by tubing choice rather than by fitting choice
- Colour-coded, and the colours match Dramm's finished dribble tubes already in the range
- Brass eyelets give a secure compression fit and adapt down from a larger punched hole
- Bulk rolls for making and repairing dribble tubes in-house
- Small outside diameter compared with other uncompensated systems, so holes stay small
Ideal Applications
- Making dribble tubes to custom lengths in-house
- Repairing or extending an existing dribble tube system
- Building a low-cost uncompensated system for even-height, even-run benches
- Matching flow to pot size by choosing bore and length
Install with the HPT hand pick tool and the matching brass eyelet, terminate with a slim weight, and use the 0.12 in micro valve where a single tube needs shutting off.
