Guard Set for AME HAF Fan
A two piece wire guard set for a Dramm AME horizontal air flow fan - one guard for the intake face and one for the exhaust face. AME fans ship without guards because a guard reduces the capacity of any fan, and Dramm's position is that a fan hung 8 ft or higher above the floor does not need one. Below 8 ft, or anywhere a worker can reach the blade from a walkway, bench or platform, the guards have to be fitted. The set is sized to one fan diameter, so order it to match the fan you are protecting.
The only choice is fan size, and it is a fit dimension rather than a feature: 350mm (14 in) fits the AME 350/4 housing and 400mm (16 in) fits the AME 400/4 housing. They are not interchangeable - a 350mm set will not seat on a 400mm housing and a 400mm set will not grip a 350mm one, so check the fan before you order. Fitting is straightforward and needs no drilling. The front guard is a pressure fit: rubber grommets hold it in place by friction alone, so you press it over the intake side of the housing. The rear guard is captured by the three motor mounting brackets - lay the fan exhaust side down, remove the bracket bolts, slide the brackets through the gap between the first and second wire rings, and bolt the brackets back to the housing. Expect some loss of output once both guards are on, which is why Dramm recommends hanging the fan high and adding guards only where site conditions require them.
