The Spears 878-007SR is a 3/4 in Schedule 80 PVC female adapter with a spigot end and a Special Reinforced (SR) female NPT end. A stainless steel collar molded around the threaded end reinforces it against the hoop stress of tightened male threads.

The spigot end inserts directly into a fitting socket, so the adapter can be installed without a short length of pipe. Use it where threaded metal or plastic components thread into a PVC system and joint strength matters.
