Pennamin Si is an L-amino acid sprayable powder that supplies 10% nitrogen and 4% silicon along with free-form amino acids. Silicon can improve leaf and stem strength and help plants cope with abiotic stress. Pennamin products are formulated with a high concentration of free-form L-amino acids, the form plants can use directly, and supply a package of 17 L-amino acids. The manufacturer positions the line for faster foliar nutrient uptake, better tolerance of drought, heat and salt stress, and improved soil microbial activity.

It can be applied as a foliar spray or incorporated into liquid fertilizers for soil application by sprinkler or band, with lower rates for routine maintenance and higher rates for corrective applications. The powder is highly soluble for easy spray-tank mixing, and the label notes that frequent applications at lower rates are generally more effective than fewer applications at higher rates.
