Marathon II Greenhouse and Nursery Insecticide

Marathon II from OHP is a flowable imidacloprid insecticide containing 2 lb of active ingredient per gallon for foliar and systemic insect control in greenhouses, nurseries, interior plantscapes and similar areas. It is labeled for ornamentals, fruit and nut trees and vegetable plants for resale. According to OHP, a low-rate foliar spray gives 3 to 4 weeks of control of sucking and piercing insects such as aphids, whiteflies and thrips.

Marathon II can be applied as a foliar spray, broadcast spray or soil drench, and through labeled chemigation systems such as drip, micro-irrigation, overhead and ebb-and-flow irrigation. Drench applications are taken up by the roots and moved upward through the plant for systemic protection. Watering, timing and rotation are key to a successful program.
