Altercel Plant Growth Regulator

Altercel is a chlormequat chloride plant growth regulator from OHP for ornamental crops grown in greenhouses and nurseries. It reduces plant height by limiting internode elongation through inhibition of gibberellin biosynthesis, producing more compact, marketable plants with darker foliage, thicker leaves and stronger stems.

Altercel can be applied as a foliar spray or as a drench to crops grown in packs, pots, hanging baskets and plug trays. OHP notes it is used to reduce stem elongation, promote earlier and improved bloom, and produce compact plants on crops such as poinsettias, hibiscus, azaleas and geraniums. Wetting agents are not required.
