The pH Test Kit uses a highly sensitive, super-concentrated liquid indicator that instantly changes color according to the acidity or alkalinity of the solution being tested. It reads across a broad range from pH 4.0 to 8.5, which covers the working window for hydroponic and soilless feed programs and helps identify potential nutrient lockout. It never requires calibration or batteries, so it provides a reliable, cost-effective benchmark alongside or instead of a digital meter. A small bottle of indicator provides hundreds of tests.

Fill a clean test vial about halfway (roughly 5 mL) with fully mixed nutrient solution, add three drops of the pH Test Indicator, shake gently and observe the color. Match the resulting color against the General Hydroponics pH color chart, holding the vial against a white background under natural or clear full-spectrum light for accurate reading. Test the reservoir regularly, particularly after adding fresh water or nutrients, and rinse the vial with fresh water before and after each test to prevent cross-contamination. Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
