Kontos is a Group 23 insecticide containing spirotetramat, a lipid biosynthesis inhibitor with true systemic activity for control of sucking pests. It is active primarily by ingestion, can reduce the fecundity of adult insects and mites, and Envu cites up to 30 days of insect control.

Kontos is labeled for ornamental plants in greenhouses, nurseries and interior plantscapes, including non-bearing fruit and nut trees. Applied as a foliar spray or as a drench to containerized plants, it controls aphids, mealybugs, whiteflies, scale crawlers, psyllids, leafhoppers, adelgids, immature thrips and spider, rust and tarsonemid mites.
