The Dramm PS-05 Variable Power Station is a 5 Amp speed controller designed for use with Dramm AME variable-speed Horizontal Air Flow Fans. This lower-cost version of Dramm's controller range provides speed control by use of the knob only, without requiring inputs from a climate control computer. By varying the voltage supplied to a connected AME fan, the PS-05 lets growers tune air movement to crop stage and greenhouse conditions. For young plants, slower overall air speeds are desired; as plants mature, the increase in foliar mass reduces airflow, requiring higher fan output to maintain ideal air speeds. Variable speed is also useful in preventing condensation and disease, in rapidly changing greenhouse temperatures, and during chemical application. The PS-05 is rated at 5 Amps maximum, making it suitable for controlling one or more AME fans up to the total amperage limit (e.g., multiple 350/4 fans at 0.8A nominal each, or multiple 400/4 fans at 0.9A nominal each). Unlike the larger PS-10/PS-20 controllers, the PS-05 does not include the 2-10VDC / 4-20mA analog input — it is a stand-alone, manual-only controller for installations that do not need automated climate-computer integration. Combined with AME HAF Fans, the PS-05 provides simple, reliable, low-cost speed regulation for greenhouse air movement systems where one knob is all the control you need.
