Dramm - Hydra 50 Gallon Cart Sprayer
Brand: Dramm
Hydra 50 Gallon Cart Sprayer
The Hydra 50 is the smallest hydraulic cart sprayer in Dramm's Hydra line: a 50 gallon tank on a maneuverable cart with rear casters, driven by a sealed 1.5 HP electric motor at 1750 rpm that is close coupled to a triplex piston pump, so there is no belt or chain to service. The pump delivers 4 gpm at up to 550 psi through a fully adjustable regulator, which is enough volume to run a gun and agitate the tank at the same time. It suits greenhouse and nursery crews applying insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators, fertilizers and disinfectants indoors, where one person has to move the machine down an aisle. Three lines on the picker decide what you get: how much hose is on the reel, what supply the motor is wound for, and what the cart rolls on and what the wetted fittings are made of.
Start with the supply, because it is the one thing you cannot change after delivery. 1Ph means single phase, so 115V 1Ph, 208V 1Ph and 220V 1Ph are three single phase windings of the same 1.5 HP motor: the 115V build plugs into ordinary shop power and draws 13.6 A, while the 208V and 220V builds draw roughly half that and need the matching circuit. 230V 3Ph is the three phase build of the same machine, for houses wired for three phase service, and it is offered as a 250 ft hose cart on standard wheels. Hose next: 150 ft, 200 ft, 250 ft and 300 ft are the reeled lengths, and one build ships with No hose at all so you can specify your own. Wheels and fittings share the third line. Standard wheels are the stock cart wheels with rear casters. BigFoot pneumatic wheels is Dramm's larger wheel and caster upgrade, which rolls over gravel, thresholds and soft ground instead of digging in. The other three values add CRF, which stands for Corrosion Resistant Fittings: Standard wheels - CRF and BigFoot pneumatic wheels - CRF are those same two carts with the brass fittings and manifolds replaced by stainless or plated components, and BigFoot foam-filled wheels - CRF adds foam filled tires that cannot go flat and never need air. In Dramm's own lab trial a standard Hydra that recirculated water and a peroxide oxidizer at 1:50 for an hour showed 700 ppb of lead, while the CRF machine showed none under the same procedure - that is what the CRF price step buys.

Key Features
- 50 gallon tank on a cart with rear casters, so a full machine still turns in an aisle
- Sealed 1.5 HP motor close coupled to the pump - no belt, chain or gear drive to maintain
- 4 gpm at up to 550 psi through a fully adjustable regulator covers fine cones to long throws
- Convex reel with a separate lock and variable tension drag stops birdnesting and freewheeling
- BigFoot wheel upgrade in pneumatic or foam filled form for gravel, thresholds and soft ground
- CRF builds swap brass fittings and manifolds for stainless or plated components; Dramm measured no detectable lead after recirculating a peroxide oxidizer
- Adjustable pattern trigger gun standard, and the machine also takes the L-5 spray lance and the MS40-DA drench adaptor
- Single phase and three phase windings available so the machine matches the service in the house
Ideal Applications
- Insecticide, fungicide and growth regulator applications in greenhouse ranges
- Foliar fertilizer and disinfectant spraying over benches and floors
- Long aisle work where 250 ft or 300 ft of hose beats moving the machine
- Recirculating oxidizers and acids, on a CRF build
- Houses with gravel floors, thresholds or soft ground, on a BigFoot build
- Drenching containers with the drench adaptor fitted in place of the gun
The Hydra SprayTrax 50 Gallon puts the same pump on a four wheel self tracking outdoor chassis, the Hydra Sprayer Trigger Gun and its nozzle tips are listed separately, and the L-5 spray lance and MS40-DA drench adaptor fit the same hose.
