Hose Protection and Repair Parts
The small parts that keep a hose in service: a spring protector for the tap end, replacement washers, and the two kinds of screw-clamp repair, the hose end mender and the mid-hose splice. Dramm's menders and splices use nickel plated brass barbs with die-cast zinc and aluminum clamps, so a damaged hose is cut back and rebuilt in minutes instead of being scrapped. Nothing on this page needs a press: the clamps tighten with a screwdriver and the joint is leak proof and re-usable. These are the clamp-on repair parts, not the crimped fitting and ferrule sets that are swaged in the DrammPress.
There is one choice and it is simply which part you need. Hose Protector - 5/8 in ID is a steel spring wound over a short hose stub that goes between the tap and the hose to stop the hose end kinking and to take the strain off the coupling; it is 5/8 in inside diameter with 3/4 in male and female garden hose thread. Universal Hose Washer - Bag of 100 is the neoprene replacement washer for hose couplings and hose-end watering tools, supplied a hundred to a bag, and it stays soft where nylon washers go brittle. Hose End Mender Set - 5/8 in and Hose End Mender Set - 3/4 in each contain both a male and a female hose end with screw-tight clamps, which is what you want when the threaded coupling itself has been crushed or torn off. Hose Splice Set - 5/8 in and Hose Splice Set - 3/4 in are the double-ended barb with two clamps, used to cut a damaged section out of the middle of a hose or to join two shorter hoses into one. On the menders and splices the size is the hose inside diameter, so measure the bore and not the thread.
