Dramm Stix
Dramm Stix are wire spray stakes that put a nozzle over the crop where you cannot run an overhead water line, which is what makes them useful on moveable benching. Each unit is one stake with an orange base, one green Pin Perfect nozzle, and one length of black poly leader tube supplied 30 in longer than the stake it ships with. The orange base carries a 3/8 WW thread, so the same stake accepts Pin Perfect, Nifty, Misty Mist and 180 degree Nifty nozzles and can be changed from watering to misting without pulling the stake out of the bed.
Stake height is the only choice on this page, and it should be picked to hold the nozzle above the finished height of the crop rather than to match the pot. The 10 in and 16 in stakes suit plug trays, flats and low bench crops; 24 in and 30 in cover most container work; 36 in is for taller finished material or where a bench crop grows up into the pattern. Leader tube length is not fixed across the page - it follows the stake, always 30 in longer, so the 10 in stake comes with 40 in of tube and the 36 in stake with 66 in. Nozzle and thread are the same at every height, so switching heights later means buying stakes, not re-plumbing the bench.
