Three different hose-end nozzles share this page, and they do not do the same job. Brass Adjustable is a solid brass cleaning nozzle whose barrel twists from a fine cone spray to a hard stream and shuts the water off at the end of its travel. Plastic Fan is the only plant-watering nozzle of the three, laying a medium-flow rectangular pattern at 5 to 7 gpm at 40 psi for flats and plug trays. Heavy Duty Hot Water Pistol is an insulated washdown gun rated to 160F at 100 PSI, built for sanitation work rather than for watering plants.

Pick by the task, because these three do not substitute for one another. Take Brass Adjustable for rinsing walkways, benches, carts and equipment: it is made in the USA from brass with 3/4 in hose threads, its output varies with the barrel setting, and twisting the barrel closed shuts the water off so no separate valve is needed. Take Plastic Fan for watering flats and plug trays - it is the only option here shaped to lay a wide rectangular pattern across a tray, and at 5 to 7 gpm at 40 psi it moves real volume for a 2.7 oz nozzle. Take Heavy Duty Hot Water Pistol only for washdown and sanitation: it is insulated and rated to 160F at 100 PSI so it can run off a hot water line, but it is a cleaning tool and will not give the soft, plant-safe pattern a grower wants for irrigation.
