Dab Pumps - Solid Answer Submersible Pond Pump 1-1/4 in Solids 115V
Brand: Dab Pumps
DAB Solid Answer Submersible Pond and Water Feature Pump
The DAB Solid Answer is the debris-tolerant sibling of the Clear Answer: the same 115 V single phase submersible platform, but built to pass particles up to 1-1/4 in instead of a fraction of an inch. That free passage comes from a different wet end - a nylon impeller with a diffuser and a self-priming disc behind an anti-debris stainless steel strainer, in place of the Clear Answer's clean water hydraulics. The pump body and top body are glass-filled polypropylene, the motor casings are cast aluminum, the rotor shaft is quenched AISI 416 stainless steel, and sealing is a triple lip NBR arrangement. The motor is an induction type, closed and cooled by the liquid being pumped, with built-in thermic overload protection and a capacitor permanently in circuit. It installs vertically or horizontally. None of the three models is supplied with a float switch - DAB publishes no float on this family - so pair it with an external level control if you need automatic operation.
DAB publishes Solid Answer only as a pond and water feature pump - circulating water in garden ponds, creating waterfalls and running play water features - and that is where the 1-1/4 in passage earns its keep: leaf litter, string algae, gravel wash and silt move through the impeller instead of clogging a filter-fed circulator. DAB's stated liquid is pond water without fibers carrying particles up to 1-1/4 in, so this is not a septic, sewage or grey water basin pump and should not be specified as one. Three sizes cover 24 to 54 GPM on a common 1-1/4 in NPT discharge, with a 16 ft cord and 16 ft maximum submersion across the range.
