The DAB NOVA is a 115 V single phase submersible pump for clear water and rainwater, completely redesigned in 2019 for the fortieth year of NOVA sales. The pump body, impeller and suction grid are technopolymer, the motor case is AISI 304 stainless steel and the rotor shaft is AISI 431 stainless steel, so the wetted parts resist corrosive attack. Sealing is a triple ring arrangement in an oil bath, the motor is a continuous duty asynchronous submersible type on oversized ball bearings, and thermal protection is built into every single phase version. DAB rates the pump for dry operation of up to 1 minute. Model suffixes tell you how it switches: MA is automatic with a tethered float that starts and stops the pump on level, and MNA is non-automatic, supplied without a float so the pump runs whenever it is energized or is switched by an external control. Every model in this listing uses a 1-1/4 in NPT discharge and a 16 ft SJTOW cord. The 05SJTOW in DAB's item description is the 5 metre, 16 ft cord, and 40TH is the anniversary series, not a cord length.

Because DAB sets the intake level low, a NOVA 180 or 200 will draw a basin down to 0.31 in, a NOVA 300 to 0.51 in and a NOVA 600 to 1.18 in, which matters when you are trying to finish a floor rather than just knock the water down. MA models drop straight into a pit and run unattended; MNA models suit a panel, a duplex controller or a hand switch.
