DAB JET SS -PS Stainless Steel Jet Pump with Pressure Switch

The DAB JET SS -PS is the stainless steel version of DAB's self-priming jet pump, supplied with the pressure switch fitted. DAB specifies an AISI 304 stainless steel pump body, seal holder cover and shim washers, a die-cast aluminium motor frame, a technopolymer impeller, diffuser and Venturi tube, an AISI 416 stainless steel shaft with rotor, NBR O-ring gaskets and a carbon and ceramic mechanical seal. The motor is asynchronous, closed and externally air cooled, on oversized greased-for-life ball bearings, with built-in thermo-amperometric protection and a permanently connected capacitor on the single-phase version. Class F insulation, 3400 RPM, 115/230 V dual voltage at 60 Hz, 1 in NPT suction and 1 in NPT discharge. DAB's technical sheet lists CSA C22.2 No. 108-14 and UL 778 5th Edition approvals.

The reason to choose JET SS over the cast iron JET is the wetted stainless steel: it is the right call for slightly aggressive water, for coastal and humid installations, and anywhere a rusting cast iron volute would be a nuisance. Hydraulically it is the same idea as the cast iron pump. The internal ejector self-primes from up to 29 ft below the pump and keeps working with air bubbles in the suction line, so it suits shallow wells, cisterns, ponds and tanks. DAB rates the JET SS 50-75-100 family for capacity up to 23 gpm and head up to 213 ft. With the pressure switch fitted and a pressure tank added, it becomes a complete domestic water system. Liquid must be clean, free of solid or abrasive contaminants, non-viscous, non-aggressive, uncrystallised and chemically neutral.
