Dab Pumps - JET Cast Iron Jet Pump with Pressure Switch
Brand: Dab Pumps
DAB JET -PS Cast Iron Jet Pump with Pressure Switch
The DAB JET -PS is a self-priming centrifugal jet pump with a cast iron pump body and a factory-fitted pressure switch. The -PS suffix is how DAB splits this range in its USA price list: the -PS codes ship with the pressure switch installed, the plain codes ship without it. DAB specifies technopolymer for the impeller, diffuser, Venturi tube and sand filter, stainless steel shim washers and a carbon and ceramic mechanical seal. On the 50, 75-1 and 100-1 the motor frame is die-cast aluminium and the shaft is AISI 416 stainless steel; on the 150, 200 and 300 the motor frame is GJL 200 cast iron and the shaft is AISI 303 stainless steel. The 150 and 200 use a twin impeller. Motors are asynchronous and externally cooled, on greased-for-life ball bearings, with built-in thermo-amperometric protection and a permanently connected capacitor, IP 44 motor protection, IP 55 terminal block protection and class F insulation. All models run at 3400 RPM.
With the pressure switch fitted, the JET -PS starts and stops on demand, which is what turns it from a bare pump into a working domestic water system when paired with a pressure tank. DAB rates a maximum suction depth of 29 ft, so it suits shallow wells, cisterns, ponds and tanks. The six models here span 0.5 HP to 3 HP and cover 119 ft to 203 ft of head and flows to 46.2 GPM, which lets the range serve everything from a single-family pressure system to a small farm or a demanding irrigation main. The 0.5, 0.75 and 1 HP models are 115/230 V dual voltage; the 1.5, 2 and 3 HP models are 230 V only. Note the -1 models: the 75-1 and 100-1 use a different hydraulic end than the plain 75 and 100 at the same rated HP, and DAB's published curves show the -1 versions trading head for flow. DAB's tables give the JET 75 at 177 ft and 15.8 GPM against the JET 75-1 at 119 ft and 21.1 GPM, and the JET 100 at 200 ft and 15.8 GPM against the JET 100-1 at 158 ft and 21.1 GPM. DAB does not define the suffix in words anywhere; that is what its curves show.
