The FA 5 CLEAR is a 5 in inline filter housing with a clear polycarbonate bowl, used to hold a replaceable cartridge that strips sediment out of a water line. Because the bowl is transparent, you can see how loaded the cartridge is at a glance and change it on condition instead of on a guess, without breaking the housing open to check. The top body is technopolymer, the inlet and outlet threads are brass inserts, and a brass pressure relief plug is fitted so trapped pressure can be vented before the bowl is opened.

It installs fixed in a vertical position with 1 in NPT inlet and outlet, and is rated to 116 PSI at up to 30 GPM. Typical placement is upstream of a pump, a set of emitters or a treatment stage that sand and grit would damage. It is a standard fit on well and surface pump systems, drip and low flow irrigation, hydroponics and rainwater harvesting. The FA 5 CLEAR takes 5 in cartridges: the CRL 5 washable 60 micron mesh element or the CF5 string wound 20 micron element.
