Cyco Silica

Cyco Silica is a potassium silicate additive from the Cyco Platinum Series, supplying 3 percent soluble potash (K2O) plus 3 percent silicon (Si) listed as a non-plant food ingredient, both derived from potassium silicate. Cyco states that its benefits include greater tolerance to environmental stresses and improved growth rate, and that silica is essential when growing in hydroponic mediums. The company positions it around stem strength and whether plant stems are strong enough to support a full fruit load. It is intended for commercial operators and indoor cultivation facilities running soilless systems.

Silica is added directly to the nutrient tank at 1 to 2 ml per litre of solution. After dosing, Cyco directs operators to test pH and TDS and adjust back to normal levels if needed, since potassium silicate is alkaline and will move solution pH. It is used as a supporting additive across the crop cycle in hydroponic and soil-free media rather than as a base nutrient, sitting alongside the Grow A and B or Bloom A and B base in the Cyco program.
