Botanicare - CocoGro Coir Fiber
Brand: Botanicare
Botanicare CocoGro Coir Fiber
CocoGro is a grow medium made with 100% premium buffered coconut coir, produced from renewable, ecologically responsible sources unlike other popular grow media such as peat moss. It is effective at retaining moisture and nutrients for roots while its texture allows it to hold more oxygen, which helps prevent over and under watering. Botanicare positions coco coir as the ideal growing media for organic and hydro-organic applications, because it allows for greater populations of beneficial, oxygen loving organisms and higher levels of atmospheric oxygen around the root zone. These soil microorganisms play a large role in higher yields by breaking down organic and mineral based matter and making it available to plants.
CocoGro is naturally aged, double washed and composted to remove tannins, and can be used right out of the bag or amended to achieve the right consistency for a given crop. Because it is a soilless medium with very low EC and salt content, it requires fertilization from transplant, giving the operator control over plant nutrition through the entire cycle. Botanicare directs that CocoGro always be used with Cal-Mag Plus along with any base nutrient or supplement. Compressed formats rehydrate to a working volume: the brick makes 0.32 cubic feet, and the 5 kg bale makes 2.2 to 2.5 cubic feet of medium.
