AXEON Carbon Systems are effective in reducing sediments and providing higher service flow rates and longer filter runs than equivalent media filters. AXEON Carbon Systems require periodic backwashing to dispose of accumulating sediments. This is accomplished by backwashing with clean water and then disposing the effluent. During this process, the different sizes within the system separate into layers, once again preparing the filtration bed for service.
