Silica specialist liquid antiscalant and dispersant for high silica feedwaters.

VITEC 4000 is a liquid antiscalant and dispersant which offers excellent silica scale inhibition and allows increased system recoveries in high silica feedwaters. It prevents silica scale up to 2.8 times saturation without the addition of acid. It is also effective in preventing clay formation from aluminum silicates in the second stage of membrane systems, as well as minimizing calcium phosphate, and it works in water containing high concentrations of metals such as iron, aluminum and manganese.

VITEC 4000 is applied in mining, well water, high recovery systems, wastewater, brine concentrators and regions with high volcanic silica. It is injected neat and continuously, far enough upstream of the membranes for full mixing. If dilution is required the solution strength must not fall below 10 percent, which protects the internal bacteriostat. Typical dosing is 2 to 5 mg/L in the supply water, with the optimum dose set by feedwater supersaturation and confirmed using the Avista Advisor Ci program or a Kurita representative.
