The pH Test Indicator is the highly sensitive, concentrated liquid solution at the heart of the General Hydroponics pH testing system, changing color instantly based on the acidity or alkalinity of the water or nutrient solution. It measures a broad range from pH 4.0 to 8.5, covering the full working window for hydroponic, coco and soilless feed programs. It requires no calibration and no batteries, which makes it a dependable reference point when a meter drifts or fails. A small bottle of the super-concentrated formula delivers hundreds of tests.

Fill a clean test vial about halfway, roughly 5 mL, with fully mixed nutrient solution, add three drops of indicator, shake gently, then compare the color against the General Hydroponics pH color chart. Read the result against a white background under natural or clear full-spectrum light for the most accurate match. Test regularly after adding fresh water or nutrients, and rinse the vial before and after each test to avoid cross-contamination. Keep the bottle tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
