Water Breaker Nozzles and Brass Rose

This page carries Dramm's water breaker heads, the 4 in brass rose and the rose's own rubber protective ring, all of the heads on 3/4 in hose thread so they interchange on the same wand or valve. A water breaker turns hose pressure into a soft, aerated shower that waters quickly without cratering media or washing out top dressed fertilizer. What changes between the heads is flow rate, hole size, pattern width and what the body is made of, and those do not all move together, so the head that suits a plug tray is not the head that suits a nursery can. One line here is not a watering head at all: the 540 Rose protective ring is the rubber guard that ships on the brass rose, stocked on its own as a spare.

Choose the Model first, by flow. 170 Small is the low flow head at 7 gpm at 40 psi, sized for hanging baskets, small containers, restricted supply lines and fertilizer siphon watering. 400 Full Size is the original full flow shower head at 11.1 gpm at 40 psi and the default for general bench and container work. 480 Heavy Duty is Dramm's fine water breaker, a stainless steel disk drilled with micro fine holes, also 7 gpm at 40 psi, so it gives a finer droplet at the same moderate volume. 350PL Screen-Aire pushes 18 gpm at 40 psi through internal components and a fine mesh screen for a high volume aerated stream that still will not dig into a pot. 540 Rose 4 in is the widest pattern here at 18 to 20 gpm at 40 psi, a brass head for covering bedding flats and market packs in fewer passes. 540 Rose protective ring is the service part: the rubber guard supplied on that brass rose, ordered on its own when the original is cut, torn or lost, and it does not include the rose. Then choose Material, which is a real decision only on the three heads Dramm builds both ways. Aluminum is cast and hand machined and takes daily abuse; Plastic is the same pattern at lower cost and weight. The 480 pattern itself changes with the body, aluminum throwing the wider pattern and plastic the more focused one. Plastic is the only build of the 350PL Screen-Aire, Brass is the only build of the 540 Rose, and Rubber applies only to the protective ring.
