The air pockets encourage fibrous root growth through the full volume of the plug, and the plugs consistently retain an air content of 30% or more, so they resist compaction even under heavy misting.

The Jiffy Blend 30 substrate of peat, coir and perlite is held together by a food-safe polymer binder, so each plug stays intact through rooting and transplanting and plants can be moved or transplanted earlier to free up bench space. Plugs arrive pre-moistened and pre-charged with fertilizer: set a seed or cutting in the center of each plug, cover the tray if needed and check daily. No added nutrients are needed for the first 7 days, making the trays a fast start for commercial propagation.

Available Options

72 Cell Tray - 21.5" x 11" x 2.25" tray, 1.56" top diameter cells, 2.69 cu in per cell

50 Cell Tray - 21.5" x 11" x 1.63" tray, 1.45" top diameter cells, 2.04 cu in per cell

Key Features

Hundreds of micro air pockets per plug for fibrous root development

Retains 30% or more air content with no compaction under heavy misting

Jiffy Blend 30: 70% peat, 20% coir, 10% perlite with a food-safe polymer binder

Starter charge of 2.4 lb/cu yd NPK and 5.1 lb/cu yd lime; pH 5.2 to 5.8, EC 0.9 to 1.3

Pre-moistened and ready to use straight from the tray; no added nutrients needed for the first 7 days

Bonded plug holds together for clean transplanting and is suited to automated handling

Ideal Applications

Rooting vegetative cuttings

Seed starting and germination

Commercial propagation benches and misting systems

Transplanting into aeration containers or fabric pots

Automated plug handling lines
