Dramm builds it for foliage plants, bedding plants, geraniums and 4 to 6 in pot crops.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eColour is the orifice and the orifice is the flow rate, so the colour you order is a hydraulic decision, not a cosmetic one. At 22 psi: Brown 2.55 mm gives 0.74 gpm, Green 2.65 mm 0.82 gpm, Grey 2.75 mm 0.90 gpm, Blue 2.80 mm 0.95 gpm, Red 2.95 mm 1.03 gpm, Orange 3.05 mm 1.11 gpm and Black 3.25 mm 1.21 gpm. Spray diameter does not change with colour - every one throws 10 ft from a line 5 ft above the crop - so stepping up a colour buys volume without changing your layout. That is exactly how Dramm intends the range to be used: pick the flow that suits the crop for the head of the run, then step up one colour roughly every sixth nozzle down the pipeline to offset friction loss, so the far end delivers what the near end does. A real order is usually three or four colours of the same nozzle, not one.
