Typical oxidizers burn off the surface of the biofilm and leave bacteria protected underneath; the non-oxidizing characteristics of Kuriverter IK penetrate the biofilm, create an unfavorable environment and initiate detachment from the membrane surface so the film flushes out in the reject stream.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKuriverter IK 110 is applied to reverse osmosis systems using a metering pump directly into the feedwater, undiluted, as either continuous injection or intermittent treatment. It may also be injected upstream of pretreatment such as multimedia filtration and cartridge filters to prevent biofouling there. General product concentration in supply water is 5 to 20 ppm.
